About Jumia

Jumia is a major pan-African e-commerce company focused on improving everyday living across Africa through technology-enabled, convenient, and affordable online services. The platform supports businesses in expanding their reach and serving more customers effectively.

The company operates a marketplace backed by its own logistics arm, Jumia Logistics, and a digital payments and fintech solution, Jumia Pay. Jumia employs more than 3,000 people, combines local and international talent, and is supported by prominent shareholders. It is also committed to driving long-term positive impact across Africa.

In April 2019, Jumia became the first technology company in Africa to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Role Overview

The Demand Planner is responsible for keeping stock levels healthy by matching supply chain actions with forecasted demand. The role serves as a key connection point among supply chain, finance, and commercial teams to support timely inbound planning and reliable inventory records.

PO Management and Supplier Coordination

  • Create, submit, and oversee purchase orders in the OMS for both new and existing items, making sure the process follows weekly procurement decisions and approved minimum order quantities.
  • Work with vendors to validate pricing, quantities, and delivery timelines, while also coordinating with KAMs to confirm that pricing details are correct.
  • Follow the full purchase order journey, manage approvals, and close or cancel orders once they are completed or no longer needed due to delay.

Inbound Planning and Stock Control

  • Arrange stock delivery appointments in the Inbound Scheduler and share daily delivery plans with warehouse security as well as relevant management teams.
  • Protect data accuracy by fixing SKU inconsistencies with commercial teams and monitoring product launch progress through PowerBI dashboards.
  • Prepare weekly reports on inbound performance, including rescheduled shipments, failed deliveries, and missing documents.

Data Maintenance and Finance Coordination

  • Gather and refresh supply chain information such as EANs, costs, and discontinued products from suppliers, then support implementation with KAMs.
  • Partner with Finance to identify and resolve invoices that are incorrect, unmatched, or missing vendor details.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, excellent communication, and the discipline to manage multiple priorities with precision. Comfort with large datasets, supplier coordination, and cross-functional teamwork is essential. Familiarity with OMS, the Inbound Scheduler, and BOB/PET is a strong advantage.

Interview Process

Applicants will go through two stages: an HR screening followed by technical discussions with prospective and functional managers.

Application Deadline

The final date to submit an application is 15-07-2026.

Offer and Working Environment

  • Exposure to a structured yet entrepreneurial workplace.
  • An opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Africa’s e-commerce industry.
  • Membership in a high-performing and energetic team.
  • Strong focus on both personal and professional development, with an emphasis on preparing future leaders.
