Job description
Role overview
This temporary full-time planning role is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on building and aligning bottom-up demand plans across the cluster. The objective is to improve end-to-end operational efficiency, protect product freshness, keep inventory at the right level, and support service levels that help the cluster expand and gain share in the categories covered.
Key responsibilities
- Own the monthly business planning and consensus (MBPC) process for the assigned categories within the cluster, developing an 18-month bottom-up demand plan that reflects cluster, category, and channel trends and growth ambitions. This requires leading pre-alignment discussions and final sign-off sessions with the cluster head, sales, CDT, and marketing.
- Use sell-out and inventory management system data to shape bottom-up plans at category, district, and SKU level, while staying within the agreed stock-cover policy. This also includes studying sales-out bias by SKU and district to improve forecasting choices.
- Perform advanced price-elasticity modeling ahead of currency devaluation in close partnership with commercial teams, building multiple volume scenarios across product portfolios and highlighting risks and opportunities to support strong data-led decisions.
- Work closely with district sales senior managers to analyze second-tier wholesalers in depth, strengthening forecast accuracy and improving demand projections throughout the distribution network, especially before price changes.
- Partner with commercial teams to handle ICP and create baseline demand forecasts for new launches and promotions, ensuring that baseline and uplift assumptions are realistic and aligned with market size, competitor pricing, APOS ambition, drop size, and competitor performance.
- Prepare end-to-end PIPO plans each month to prevent out-of-stock situations and excess inventory, taking into account MBPC outputs, supply alerts, and results from the previous month.
- Coordinate with sales support to review monthly landing expectations and evaluate their possible effect on replenishment and full-year sales, taking proactive steps to optimize trade stock coverage and performance.
- Ensure products are available on time and with the required freshness while keeping inventory at an optimal level by working with clearance, category supply planning, DSP category management, logistics, and other relevant teams, and by giving the commercial team visibility into on-time availability.
- Support reduction of bad goods through MSR meetings in the cluster with the relevant stakeholders, making sure the agreed action plan is reflected in MBPC outputs, the finance team books the correct provision value, and risks are escalated when they cannot be avoided.
- Track key performance indicators continuously, including OG%, tonnage growth, DPA M-1, DPA M-3, bias, COF, stock cover, and bad goods, with the goal of improving service level and forecast accuracy through the MBPC process while lowering end-to-end costs.
- Maintain and share the DPA learning log with the cluster, category, and analytical hub, providing clear details on deviations from actuals by reason code.
- Coordinate with the local A&P team to ensure promotional stocks are executed and available on time in line with the promotion planning SOP.
- Support order fulfillment management and reason-code assignment for out-of-stock situations, and help define corrective actions that improve customer satisfaction and reduce recurrence where needed.
- Manage the monthly pallet projection process end to end, working closely with warehouse and logistics teams to confirm space availability in line with expected demand swings, build-ups, and supply-chain contingencies.
Education and experience
This role requires a Bachelor of Engineering or a degree in Supply Chain, along with at least 2 years of experience in demand planning. Experience in the food and beverage sector is considered an advantage.
Skills and tools
The position calls for strong Microsoft Office capability, solid stakeholder management, and effective communication skills.
