Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site Dentist position based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will deliver a broad range of clinical dental services, including routine examinations, restorative work, extractions, root canal procedures, and preventive treatments. The role also includes diagnosing oral health issues, creating tailored treatment plans, and guiding patients on oral hygiene and prevention. You will work alongside nurses and support staff to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant clinical workflows, while keeping detailed records and following all relevant regulatory and infection control standards. A key part of the job is helping ensure every patient has a positive, respectful, and inclusive experience.

Clinical Duties

  • Carry out routine dental assessments and provide comprehensive treatment for a wide range of oral health needs.
  • Perform restorative procedures, tooth extractions, root canal therapy, and preventative dental care.
  • Identify dental conditions accurately and build personalised treatment plans for patients.
  • Explain treatment options clearly and support patients in making informed decisions.
  • Work closely with dental nurses and other support staff to deliver safe and efficient care.
  • Maintain precise clinical notes and uphold required infection prevention and control measures.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and patient-focused clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Holds a recognised dental qualification and is registered, or eligible to register, with the appropriate dental regulator.
  • Has hands-on experience in general dentistry, including examinations, restorations, extractions, and prevention-focused care.
  • Demonstrates strong diagnostic ability and sound treatment planning skills.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with patients about procedures and options.
  • Shows a firm commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and infection control practices.
  • Brings excellent interpersonal skills and a respectful, inclusive approach to patient care.
  • Can function effectively in a multidisciplinary team and handle a busy clinic setting.
  • Is well organised, maintains accurate records, and is comfortable using digital dental systems and radiography.
  • Values ongoing professional development and keeping pace with advances in dentistry.
  • Experience in endodontics, prosthodontics, or cosmetic dentistry would be beneficial, though it is not mandatory.
