Role overview

CB2 is seeking a Designer in Boston, MA to help customers plan and shape their spaces through thoughtful interior design support and strong client service. What you will do

• Create engaging customer experiences through in-store and virtual design support that helps drive sales.
• Build custom CB2 design solutions using approved tools, including mood boards, 2D floor plans, product selections, and style references.
• Run one-on-one design consultations in person, by email, over the phone, and through virtual meetings, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
• Apply a strong understanding of CB2’s brand look and merchandising approach across store, online, and catalog channels.
• Work toward individual sales, KPI, service, and productivity targets while following the store’s selling process.
• Stay current on market movement and design industry trends.
• Listen carefully to customer needs and recommend the best products and relevant loyalty programs such as Designer Rewards, the Design Trade Program, the CB2 credit card, and gift registry.
• Provide courteous, efficient, and upbeat service across all customer interactions, including potential home visits.

Skills and experience needed

• Knowledge of core design principles such as space planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
• Clear, effective communication with the ability to interpret both CB2’s brand direction and customer preferences.
• Comfort using technology, including 2D/3D design tools, Google Workspace, and video conferencing platforms.
• Capability in floor planning and related design workflows.
• Awareness of current interior design and décor trends.
• Experience developing long-term customer relationships.
• Previous one-on-one client advising or solution recommendation experience.
• Familiarity with Google tools and virtual communication; design software experience is preferred.
