Despatch Team Member (Fixed Term until January 2027)

Role Summary

As a Despatch Team Member, you will work in a busy, high-energy environment preparing outgoing stock for delivery to stores throughout Aotearoa. The job is varied and calls for speed, accuracy, and flexibility. You’ll spend much of your day on your feet, handling stock, solving issues as they come up, and helping ensure the flow from the distribution centre to stores runs smoothly.

Key Duties

• Load and prepare pallets for dispatch, with product weights ranging from 1 kg to 30 kg.
• Organise items by barcode and destination store.
• Select stock from fast-moving conveyor belts.
• Use RF scanners to record inventory movement.
• Move pallets and wrap them securely for transport.
• Seal, label, and ready stock for dispatch.
• Operate pallet jacks, box cutters, and strapping equipment.
• Carry out bulk picking and consolidate stock where needed.
• Adapt quickly to last-minute changes and support colleagues across the team.

Working Arrangements

This is a fixed-term position running until mid-January 2027. The roster is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and the pay rate is $30.28 per hour.

Peak Period Conditions

This role supports the peak trading period through January 2027. Because this is the busiest time of the year, extended leave is unlikely to be approved during this period, including around Christmas and New Year. Public holidays are not worked.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is physically capable of being on their feet for the whole day, has strong attention to detail, communicates well, and enjoys working as part of a team. You should also be comfortable working on your own, able to maintain focus, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment. Prior warehouse or distribution centre experience is helpful, but it is not essential.

To be considered, you must be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
