Role overview
An NHS health board in Hengoed is looking for a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to join the General X-ray team at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr. The post suits a motivated radiography professional who is keen to deliver high-quality imaging and patient care for both in-patients and out-patients.
Key duties
- Carry out diagnostic radiographic examinations across a full range of general X-ray work.
- Support the delivery of an efficient, high-standard radiology service for patients.
- Handle patients and equipment safely and in line with the training provided.
- Use RIS and PACS software, along with the clinical workstation, as part of daily work.
- Follow the department’s established procedures and working practices.
- Take personal responsibility when operating imaging equipment.
- Contribute to audits and surveys linked to the role when required.
- Take part in out-of-hours services, including CT head cover, after the induction period.
- Look after equipment carefully and report faults, breakdowns, or other issues to the line manager, or act appropriately if they are unavailable.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current radiographic techniques and the equipment used in the department areas where you work.
Experience and profile
Applicants should bring experience across a broad range of radiographic techniques, along with post-qualification NHS experience in Radiology. The team is seeking someone with genuine enthusiasm for the post and a strong commitment to producing excellent images and delivering quality care.
