Job description

About the Company

We. Communications is an international communications agency that helps organisations adapt and communicate effectively in a fast-moving world. With decades of experience at the point where technology meets human insight, the team turns new ideas into messages and experiences that resonate with audiences. In Singapore, the agency works with ambitious, innovation-led clients and builds brand stories using communications, data, strategy, earned-first creativity, and digital thinking. Its experience across Public Sector, Travel & Tourism, Tech, and B2B, along with proprietary AI tools and an advanced technology stack, helps convert content into connections and stories into impact.

Role Purpose

This senior leadership position is for a communications professional who can bridge PR, marketing, and creative operations. The role calls for someone who can shape strong narratives, lead teams, strengthen client relationships, and keep delivery running efficiently across multiple workstreams. As Director, you will act as a strategic advisor, creative brand advocate, and operational lead for integrated communications, marketing, and creative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary senior contact for clients on a daily basis, guiding multi-channel communications programmes with strategic focus and precision.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media professionals, journalists, and influencers across Singapore and the wider region, while creating proactive storytelling approaches that support the intended narrative.
  • Lead earned media planning and delivery, including media collaborations, award entries, and initiatives aimed at industry recognition.
  • Execute integrated communications campaigns, review outcomes, and ensure strong delivery across all channels.
  • Spot emerging trends in digital and social communication and share insights with clients and internal teams to shape strategy.
  • Identify possible risks or disruptions affecting client businesses and respond proactively to reduce impact.
  • Prepare and present new business proposals and participate in face-to-face pitch meetings.
  • Support account expansion through organic growth, cross-account opportunities, and global business development prospects.
  • Showcase operational strengths and creative capabilities to prospective clients to help secure new work.
  • Track the competitive environment to identify and evaluate worthwhile new business leads.
  • Create and manage content across formats such as thought leadership articles, short videos, infographics, white papers, and social posts, while maintaining consistent brand voice.
  • Lead the agency’s own social media activity and support senior leaders in strengthening LinkedIn presence and visibility.
  • Research market trends and competitor activity to improve marketing direction and keep the brand competitive.
  • Build and maintain marketing dashboards and reporting processes that measure performance and guide decisions.
  • Map, improve, and standardise creative workflows from intake to final delivery, including project management and quality assurance steps.
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation across creative teams to improve efficiency and output quality.
  • Manage external partners such as vendors and freelancers, including selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
  • Control budgets and monitor utilisation so programmes are delivered on schedule, aligned to brief, and within agreed scope.
  • Coach and develop direct reports with attention to retention, career progression, and broader capability building.
  • Lead hiring, staffing, and onboarding across PR, marketing, and creative teams.
  • Work with HR on employee relations matters and ensure team behaviour reflects agency values.
  • Keep senior leadership updated on client status, team matters, and operational progress.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is required.
  • At least 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in communications, PR, or marketing, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience managing people.
  • Proven background in integrated marketing campaigns, brand programmes, and content strategy work.
  • Strong knowledge of the Asian media environment, with established connections to Singapore media and journalists.
  • Solid capability in digital and social storytelling, including community engagement and influencer work.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced settings, with resilience, adaptability, and a strong focus on process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of creative production processes, project management tools, and digital asset management systems.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation ability, paired with strong executive presence.
  • English fluency is mandatory; knowledge of a second regional language such as Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and data visualisation tools is beneficial.
