Role overview
This opportunity is with a multinational supplier serving the semiconductor sector. The organization is looking for a Supply Chain Director focused on demand planning to lead the planning team and drive meaningful changes in how planning is done.
The position involves analyzing demand information, partnering closely with Sales and business leadership, and shaping a demand signal that is accurate, practical, and aligned across the organization. You will also work with senior management to define strategy and support strong operational performance in both the near and long term.
As a senior leader, you will need to balance day-to-day execution with a forward-looking mindset. The role also serves as the Asia lead for Planning and the first escalation and feedback contact for improvements shared with Plants, Sales, and Planning. You will collaborate across functions through S&OP to align forecasts and improve product availability and service outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to define the demand planning approach and convert it into operating plans for the long-range horizon.
- Oversee integrated planning capabilities across management layers to maintain governance, consistency, and executional effectiveness.
- Make important calls on strategic initiatives, standards, and resource deployment while balancing differing stakeholder needs.
- Act as the owner for major escalations and executive-level reporting, ensuring clarity of direction, accountability, and completion.
- Deliver ongoing gains in forecast performance, customer service levels, and overall business resilience.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in demand planning across both S&OE and S&OP processes.
- Serve as the main planning representative for Asia, covering Manufacturing Plants, Sales, and Planning, and ensure demand signals and priorities are clearly aligned.
- Guide the transformation of demand planning practices to improve forecast accuracy and process visibility for the benefit of customers and the business.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required, along with at least 5 years of progressive management experience.
- Demonstrated people leadership ability, including coaching, prioritization, and performance management that produce measurable results.
- Hands-on experience in setting up and governing Demand Planning and S&OP frameworks, including calendars, KPIs, escalation paths, and decision forums.
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
- A creative mindset with the ability to lead process and systems enhancements that improve forecast quality, speed, and responsiveness.
- A strong commitment to excellence, with ownership of key metrics such as forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and service performance, plus a track record of sustained improvement.
