About the role

Tommy Bahama is an island-inspired lifestyle brand where the restaurant team helps deliver warm hospitality and memorable dining. In this position, you will support the kitchen by keeping dishware, cookware, and equipment clean, organized, and ready for service while contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

Key duties

• Work cooperatively with the team and contribute to a welcoming, guest-focused environment.
• Wash and sanitize plates, utensils, cookware, pots, pans, and food-preparation equipment.
• Maintain an orderly dish area and keep cleaning equipment and supplies organized.
• Help uphold kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in line with required agency guidelines.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced culinary or hospitality setting.
• Current food handler’s card, along with any other certifications required by federal, state, or local law.
• Working knowledge of restaurant storage, rotation, cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking practices for food service items and equipment.
• Ability to carry out general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to take on additional duties as needed to help the business run smoothly.

Physical expectations

• Frequent lifting and moving of items up to about 50 pounds.
• Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Standing for most or all of the shift.
• Ability to handle equipment and tools such as a hand cart, blenders, knives, slicers, wine keys, and other items referenced in training materials.
• Work schedules are based on business needs.
