Role Overview
The Dispatcher will oversee day-to-day dispatch activity and help anticipate future operational needs. This role focuses on coordinating routes, supporting customers and staff, and keeping schedules and resources running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and refine route sequencing to improve efficiency.
- Respond quickly to customer and employee questions, concerns, and complaints.
- Ensure operations follow safety rules and applicable federal, state, and company requirements.
- Predict equipment requirements and communicate them clearly.
- Handle data entry and related distribution tasks.
- Keep route performance improving through regular updates and maintenance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Good knowledge of local geography and travel patterns.
- Experience coordinating pick-up and delivery drivers, as well as route drivers.
- Ability to make daily route changes that improve efficiency.
- Comfort using Outlook, Excel, and other computer applications.
Work Schedule and Environment
This is a full-time, year-round position with overtime opportunities. The shift runs from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some weekend work as needed. The role is based in a small-office setting with a relaxed dress code.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting pay is $20 per hour, and wages are paid weekly. Benefits include employer-paid medical, vision, and dental coverage, with discounted options available for family members.
