Job description
About the role
As a Dispenser in a Boots store, you will play an important part in the pharmacy team, helping pharmacists and other healthcare colleagues deliver safe, efficient pharmacy and healthcare services.
In the store’s healthcare area, you will build trusting relationships with patients by understanding their needs and offering helpful guidance. Core duties

- Offer patients practical advice on medicines and pass complex questions to the pharmacist when needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure prescriptions are dispensed safely and legally.
- Stay current with new store innovations and follow operational processes accurately.
- Help patients manage repeat prescriptions efficiently, improve adherence, and reduce medicine waste.
You will also work with changing in-store technology, giving you the chance to use new systems that improve dispensing processes, enhance patient safety, and free up more time for patient interaction.
Ongoing updates and training will support the growth of your healthcare knowledge, and there may be career routes into Pharmacy Technician training or the store leadership team.

The hourly pay for this position is £13.92, rising to as much as £16.64 in selected London locations.
Requirements
- You should have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification (NVQ2 or an equivalent qualification), or be working toward it while having completed the first year of an MPharm degree.

- Previous experience in community pharmacy would be advantageous.
Benefits

- Competitive staff discount.
- Enhanced pay for maternity, paternity, and adoption leave, plus a gift card for those expecting or adopting a child.
- Flexible benefits package.
- Access to free counselling and support 24/7 through TELUS Health, the employee assistance programme.
