Drive Thru Supervisor

Role overview

Mitre 10 is preparing to launch its new MEGA Papamoa store in Tauranga, and this is a chance to join the team at the beginning of the journey. The business is locally owned and operated, with a strong focus on practical support, customer service, and building a workplace where people can do their best work.

This position is a full-time, site-based role working 40 hours across five days, which includes one weekend day. You will help lead the Drive Thru area, keep daily operations running smoothly, and deliver a reliable, safe, and customer-friendly experience for trade and DIY customers in a brand-new store environment.

What this role involves

You will support the day-to-day leadership of the Drive Thru team by helping organise work, guiding staff through the shift, and making sure priorities are met. The role is practical and customer-facing, with responsibility for efficient load-out, yard presentation, safety, and coordination with Trade and Inwards Goods.

• Assist with daily leadership of the Drive Thru, helping set priorities and maintain a steady workflow across the yard.
• Accurately pick, stage, and load customer orders while checking items against paperwork and ensuring service is handled well.
• Encourage safe load handling, secure loading practices, and traffic management standards, and help ensure yard safety measures are followed.
• Work closely with Trade and Inwards Goods on urgent orders, deliveries, and day-to-day workflow needs.
• Coach and support team members with product knowledge, customer service, and safe working methods.
• Keep the yard tidy and organised, maintain correct location accuracy and ticketing, and support promotional displays and set-ups.
• Handle straightforward customer or operational issues and pass on more complex matters when required.

What we are looking for

We are seeking someone with a strong customer service approach, a calm and organised style, and the confidence to work in an active, physically demanding environment. You should be comfortable supporting others, paying close attention to detail, and using systems to help keep things moving.

• Solid customer service ability with clear, helpful communication.
• Experience supporting or leading people in a busy, hands-on environment.
• Strong awareness of safety and the ability to work confidently in an active yard.
• Good planning and prioritisation skills, especially under pressure.
• A careful approach to products, strong attention to detail, and a dependable work style.
• Confidence using tools such as RF scanners and basic inventory systems, or the willingness to learn quickly.
• Forklift experience is useful, or you should be willing to complete training, along with a sound understanding of PPE, manual handling, and load-securing practices.

Working arrangement

This is a permanent full-time role based onsite in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. The schedule is 40 hours per week over five days, including one weekend day.
