Job description
Role overview
This position is focused on the safe and timely movement of loose materials such as asphalt, rock, and dirt between work locations and project sites. The driver will also handle loading, vehicle operation, and routine upkeep of the truck, along with other tasks needed to support daily operations.
Key duties
- Keep the vehicle and related equipment in safe working condition.
- Follow flaggers’ directions while working on site.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections in line with company rules.
- Load and handle different types of raw materials as needed.
- Prepare and submit the correct paperwork for each load and project to the logistics manager every day.
- Carry out additional related duties when required.
- Take instructions from the logistics manager or field staff as needed.
- Refuel and clean the truck each evening.
- Maintain an accurate and readable daily log.
- Notify the logistics manager immediately about any expected issues.
- Only transport or dump materials assigned by the logistics manager.
- Be available to work evenings or weekends when the job requires it.
License and work expectations
A valid Class A or Class B driver’s license is required for this role.
Compensation
The pay range for this job is $22 to $27 per hour.
