About Dayforce
Dayforce is a worldwide human capital management company with its corporate base in Toronto, Ontario, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The business supports customers across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region.
Its cloud-based HCM platform combines a unified data foundation with a continuous calculation engine to help organizations improve efficiency, productivity, and compliance for their global workforce. The company’s promise, Makes Work Life Better™, reflects its focus on employees, customers, partners, and communities.
Role Overview
The Employee Relations Manager will handle a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance concerns, policy interpretation and breaches, and the investigation and resolution of employee complaints. The role calls for the ability to review complex information, draw well-supported conclusions using multiple sources and methods, and communicate findings to management and leadership at different levels. It also includes leading employee relations training and support activities that align with Dayforce’s performance management strategy and related processes.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves managing sensitive, high-risk workplace matters such as investigations, escalated performance issues, and involuntary terminations, while working with Legal to stay aligned with employment legislation and regulations. It also serves as an escalation point for employee relations queries and offers practical guidance to HR partners and business leaders.
The role requires close collaboration with HR and other stakeholders to apply company policy, culture, and values in developing practical solutions. It includes assessing employee relations concerns, evaluating risk, gathering and organizing evidence, and recommending appropriate actions. The manager will maintain investigation and discipline records in internal systems, monitor trends, identify process gaps, and suggest or implement improvements where needed.
Additional responsibilities include taking proactive steps to reduce employee relations issues through policy updates, procedures, training, and communication, as well as supporting disability leave management, reintegration, and accommodation requests. Building strong working relationships through timely and high-quality service is also a core part of the role, along with any other related duties assigned.
Skills and Experience Needed
Candidates should have a strong grasp of human resources and employee relations principles, practices, and processes, along with sound judgement and strong problem-solving ability. Knowledge of Mauritius employment and labour laws is required, and familiarity with the EMEA market will be an added advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with HR partners, employees, and other stakeholders. The role also requires strong research, analysis, and information-handling skills, experience working with distributed teams across different locations, and the ability to stay organized, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
Perks and Culture
Dayforce promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes people from all backgrounds. The organization supports employee wellbeing, personal growth, and professional development through time-off programs, wellness initiatives, competitive pay and benefits, and recognition efforts. Employees also have access to community-impact opportunities such as volunteer days and the Dayforce Cares charity program.
