Job description

Role Overview

This position focuses on supervising, checking, and confirming the quality of electrical installation work for road and highway infrastructure projects. The work covers street lighting, traffic control systems, and related utility interfaces, with strict adherence to project drawings, specifications, safety expectations, and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The engineer will carry out site-level monitoring of electrical activities and verify that work is executed correctly and safely. This includes reviewing street lighting installations such as LED, solar, and high-mast systems, as well as traffic signals, road safety equipment, underground and overhead cabling, electrical panels, feeder pillars, and junction boxes. The role also involves checking that construction aligns with approved drawings, quantity schedules, and method statements.

Quality assurance is a major part of the job. The selected candidate will confirm that materials and workmanship comply with the required standards, including IRC, IS, IEC, or other applicable codes. They will also review installation methods, identify defects or deviations, and follow up with contractors to ensure corrective actions are completed on time.

Testing and verification duties include witnessing and validating electrical test activities such as insulation resistance, continuity, earthing and grounding, and functional testing of lighting and signal systems. Accurate documentation of inspection findings and test results is also expected.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Diploma, ITI, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Certifications related to electrical inspection or safety will be an advantage.

Experience

The role calls for 3 to 7 years of relevant electrical inspection experience. Background in roads, highways, or infrastructure supervision projects is strongly preferred, along with direct exposure to site inspection, testing, and quality control.

Benefits

The organization offers competitive compensation along with standard benefits that include comprehensive medical coverage and payment of professional subscription fees.

Inclusion and Equal Opportunity

The employer promotes a respectful and inclusive workplace and encourages applications from qualified candidates regardless of gender, race, disability, age, religion or belief, marital status, pregnancy, or parental status. Disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria will be interviewed.
