Role Overview
This position is for an experienced joinery estimator who can build precise costings for luxury joinery and bespoke furniture work. The role calls for strong commercial judgement, a solid technical grasp of joinery fabrication, and the capability to produce detailed cost analyses that help deliver projects profitably.
Working alongside design, production, procurement, and sales functions, the estimator will contribute to accurate pricing, competitive bids, and successful tender preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client briefs to develop reliable project cost estimates
- Measure material needs and gather competitive pricing from suppliers
- Work out costs for labour, fabrication, machinery, finishing, and site installation
- Compile thorough cost summaries for custom joinery and furniture packages
- Coordinate with design and production teams to check buildability and identify cost efficiencies
- Prepare quotations, tender documents, and pricing submissions within set deadlines
- Compare supplier and subcontractor quotes to confirm competitiveness and compliance
- Track market movements, raw material prices, and industry changes that affect costing
- Assist with value engineering by suggesting lower-cost options that preserve quality
- Keep pricing records, supplier files, and estimation documents current and organized
- Support the sales team with technical and commercial input during client discussions
- Make sure all estimates match company standards, project expectations, and margin goals
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of estimating experience in joinery, fit-out, luxury furniture manufacturing, or interior contracting
- Good knowledge of joinery materials, finishes, hardware, and production methods
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, with working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Understanding of UAE pricing levels, labour costs, supplier ecosystems, and subcontracting rates
- Strong grasp of bespoke furniture and architectural joinery manufacturing workflows
- Advanced capability in MS Excel and familiarity with estimation tools or software
- Strong numerical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and negotiation ability
- Comfortable managing several tenders and deadlines at the same time
- Knowledge of UAE regulations, standards, and industry practices is an advantage
