Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site Estimator position in Brentwood, England. The successful candidate will produce accurate and timely pricing for labour, materials, plant hire, and related services across a range of construction projects. The role requires close cooperation with project managers, operations teams, and clients to develop quotations, refine pricing, and support tender submissions.
Key duties
The Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and tender information, gather quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare detailed breakdowns and proposals. The position also involves updating cost data, tracking market pricing, and helping improve the estimating process over time.
Skills and experience
Applicants should have a strong background in construction estimating and cost analysis, with the ability to understand drawings, specifications, and tender packs. Good working knowledge of estimating tools, spreadsheets, and common office software is required, along with a practical understanding of construction methods, labour planning, plant hire, and logistics in the UK market. The role also calls for strong communication, negotiation, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organised while managing multiple deadlines. Previous experience in estimating or a similar commercial or quantity surveying role is preferred.
