Job description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating property events so that service remains smooth before, during, and after each function. The role focuses on events of moderate complexity and requires close coordination with Sales, on-property departments, and customers to ensure a seamless handoff from sales to service and back again. A key part of the job is spotting opportunities to improve revenue through upselling and value-added enhancements, while delivering memorable event experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage all event-related documentation and ensure accuracy across the full event cycle.
- Work closely with Sales, hotel departments, and customers to support a consistent service experience.
- Handle the transition of events from sales to operations and then back to sales without disruption.
- Manage room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups of average to larger size.
- Identify operational issues tied to each group and work with staff and clients to resolve them or offer alternate solutions.
- Participate in site inspections and support the sales process when needed.
- Act as the main point of contact between the salesperson and the customer throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event stages.
- Lead and facilitate pre-event, during-event, and post-event meetings, including BEO and block review sessions where needed.
- Track revenue opportunities, support forecasting, and recommend upsells and service enhancements.
- Review billing details with clients before final processing to ensure accuracy.
- Gather feedback from hotel departments and customers to improve future event delivery.
- Respond to guest concerns, troubleshoot issues, and suggest alternatives when plans need to change.
- Support employees by clarifying expectations, encouraging strong service behavior, and promoting customer satisfaction.
- Carry out other responsibilities as needed to support business priorities.
Candidate Profile
The employer is seeking someone with either a high school diploma or GED plus 1 to 2 years of experience in event management or a related professional area, or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Required Experience and Skills
