Executive - Research & Development

Role overview

DFM Foods is hiring an R&D executive to be based in Greater Noida. The position supports product innovation, product enhancement, and launch readiness by creating consumer-oriented food products that align with business goals, regulatory needs, and manufacturing feasibility. The role also includes carrying out development work, assisting with plant trials, maintaining product consistency, and contributing technical input while working with teams across functions.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the full lifecycle of new product development, from initial concept through to market launch.
• Create formulations, run laboratory and plant-scale trials, and check product performance before commercialization.
• Support the transition of products from pilot batches to full-scale manufacturing.
• Review current products to find opportunities for better quality, lower cost, and improved processes.
• Compare products against competitors and category leaders to identify technical gaps and improvement areas.
• Help resolve product and process issues that arise during production.
• Prepare and update specifications for raw materials, packaging, intermediate controls, and finished goods.
• Ensure technical standards are followed consistently across plants and co-packers.
• Maintain development logs, trial summaries, and other technical records.
• Carry out in-house sensory evaluation for products in development and support external research coordination and documentation with marketing.
• Liaise with external NABL-accredited laboratories for product testing and analysis.
• Coordinate with Marketing on artwork text content development and related support.
• Assess new ingredients, vendors, and alternative sources to support innovation and cost reduction.
• Assist in co-packer approval, line commissioning, and process validation activities.
• Work with Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful product introductions.

Requirements

• A B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc., or M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, or Food Engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in Food R&D, product development, or commercialization.
• Prior exposure to snacks, seasonings, extruded products, spices, or convenience foods is preferred.
• Experience with plant trials and manufacturing settings is desirable.
• Hands-on experience in documentation, audits, and record maintenance.

The role is located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. This is a full-time, on-site position.
