Key duties

The handyman will complete repair and maintenance work, communicate clearly with customers, manage job expectations, collect payment, and follow the company’s process for documenting and delivering work. The position often requires working independently and maintaining a professional presence on every job.

Job responsibilities

• Carry out small to medium maintenance and repair tasks for homes and commercial properties, with projects typically lasting from two hours to two days
• Explain required work to customers and help set clear expectations around scope and pricing
• Deliver service that encourages repeat business and long-term customer relationships
• Work independently and manage daily tasks without close supervision
• Receive payment from customers
• Use the required tools and technology to complete and document work
• Follow the company’s job process and service standards
• Wear appropriate PPE and protective booties when working in customer homes

Minimum requirements

• Must live within the local service area
• At least 8 years of paid handyman experience
• Own personal tools required for the work
• Must qualify to drive the company vehicle
• Must pass a background check and driving record review
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Comfortable working at heights and overhead for long periods
• Professional look and ability to keep the company vehicle maintained
