Facility Assistant (Laundry)

Role Overview

Vanguard Healthcare Pte Ltd is looking for a Facility Assistant focused on laundry operations to support the Operations Support Assistant and Operations Support Executive. The role is based at Vanguard Care Home (Senja) in Singapore and is responsible for helping keep resident linen, clothing, curtains, and laundry-related equipment managed properly. This includes cleaning, folding, ironing, sorting, delivery coordination, and general upkeep of the laundry area.

Key Duties

• Manage the collection and distribution of laundry items in a timely manner.
• Carry out pre-treatment for linen that is heavily soiled.
• Iron and fold linen carefully and consistently.
• Make sure residents’ clothing is clearly and correctly labelled.
• Handle washers, dryers, and cleaning chemicals safely and properly.
• Repair or stitch torn linen and clothing when needed.
• Escalate any maintenance issues in the laundry area to the OSE.
• Maintain sufficient laundry supplies to support the daily needs of the care home.
• Keep the work area safe, tidy, hygienic, and free from hazards.
• Clean and store laundry tools and equipment correctly after use.
• Assist with laundry counting and audit activities.

Education Requirement

Primary education or an equivalent qualification is required.

Other Requirements

• Basic spoken and written English skills are needed to communicate with international colleagues.
• Strong organisational ability is important for the role.
• A service-minded, customer-focused attitude is expected.
