Factory Helper

Overview

This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment in Debert, Nova Scotia, and must be performed in person at the worksite. Remote work is not available.

Language

English is required for this position.

Education

No degree, certificate, or diploma is needed.

Experience

Applicants should have between 1 and less than 7 months of experience.

Work Environment

The position is carried out in a factory or plant setting that may be dusty and noisy.

Core Duties

The job focuses on supporting production and material handling activities across the plant. This includes moving goods with powered equipment, manually shifting raw materials, finished products, and equipment, checking and weighing items, and sorting, packing, crating, and packaging materials and products. The worker will also assist machine operators, assemblers, and other team members, complete general labour tasks, and help keep machines and nearby work areas clean.

Security and safety: The role requires bondable candidates.

Transportation: A candidate must have their own transportation.

Working conditions and physical demands: The work calls for the ability to work independently in a fast-moving setting with repetitive duties, heavy loads, and pressure to keep pace. The job is physically demanding and requires manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to stand for long periods. Work may involve sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Weight handling: The role may involve lifting and handling items up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

Equipment required: Steel-toed safety boots are required.
