Job description
Role overview
This is a full-time finance support position based in Wellington, New Zealand, working as part of a small, close-knit finance team. The role offers a mix of practical accounting work and broader finance administration, with close support to the Finance Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Handle bank reconciliations and prepare journals.
- Administer credit cards, reimbursements, and international payments.
- Assist with IRD returns and related compliance activities.
- Support accounts receivable invoicing and respond to customer account questions.
- Keep finance records accurate and up to date in the ERP system.
- Provide day-to-day finance and administrative assistance to the wider team.
- Contribute to improvement projects by spotting inefficiencies and helping with small initiatives during quieter periods.
Experience and skills
The ideal candidate is positive, detail-focused, and keen to learn. Prior exposure to a finance or accounting setting is preferred, along with solid communication skills and comfort working with systems and spreadsheets.
