SUMWON STUDIOS is a fast-scaling group of direct-to-consumer fashion labels, including MISSGUIDED, SUMWON, BALR, Baby Phat, Playboy, AiiRZ, and KiZN. Based in Dubai, the company is building a new-age fashion business that blends strong brand identity, technology, and speed in execution.

The organization is hiring a Finance Director to lead the finance function, support growth planning, and strengthen financial operations. The role covers the UAE business and also supports operations in the UK. It is a practical leadership position for someone who enjoys working in a high-growth, start-up-style environment and wants to help shape the company’s expansion journey.

Key responsibilities

• Set and drive the financial direction of the business across all brands and markets.
• Work closely with the CEO, COO, and leadership team to support growth and expansion plans.
• Translate financial data into clear recommendations for strategic and commercial decisions.
• Create finance processes and systems that can scale with rapid growth and multi-market operations.
• Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Prepare accurate management reporting and insightful financial analysis on schedule.
• Monitor core financial and business performance measures across brands, channels, and regions.
• Build scenario models and analysis to support investment and commercial decisions.
• Oversee accounting, reporting, and compliance for both the UAE and UK entities.
• Ensure statutory filings, audits, and tax requirements are completed correctly and on time.
• Introduce strong internal controls, governance practices, and risk-management frameworks.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax specialists, and other finance partners.
• Track cash flow across operating entities and improve treasury efficiency.
• Handle banking relationships, credit lines, and funding arrangements.
• Support efficient capital deployment to encourage sustainable growth.
• Partner with e-commerce, retail, and operations teams to improve profitability and cost control.
• Assess commercial performance across product lines, geographies, and sales channels.
• Use financial analysis to support pricing, sourcing, and inventory decisions.
• Recruit, guide, and develop a strong finance team across UAE and UK operations.
• Encourage accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the function.
• Coach team members and support their professional growth.

Candidate profile

• You should be a fully qualified accountant such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 10 years of total experience is required, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Background in fashion, retail, or e-commerce is expected, ideally in a start-up or rapidly growing business.
• Strong command of accounting, financial planning, and reporting is essential.
• Experience handling multi-entity and multi-currency operations is needed.
• You should bring a commercially minded, hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities are important.
• Comfort with a fast-moving and changing business environment is required.
