Job description

About the company

Hinge is a relationship-focused dating app with a mission to help people form meaningful connections and, ultimately, use the product less. The team is centered on understanding user behavior and improving the chances of creating successful dates for a global user base.

About the role

Hinge is hiring a Financial Analyst to help run core expense workflows, month-end close support, and forecasting and reporting across the business. The role partners closely with a small, high-performing finance team and works across accounting, engineering, and operations to manage vendor agreements, review financial performance, and strengthen budgeting practices. The company is seeking someone who is highly analytical, careful with details, proactive, and interested in using data and AI-enabled tools to help scale finance operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle company-wide business expense workflows, including invoice processing in accounts payable software.
  • Check invoices against forecast assumptions and vendor contract terms to ensure consistency.
  • Support internal teams during invoice handling and vendor onboarding.
  • Track business metrics against vendor agreement terms each month.
  • Identify when contract expansion, restructuring, or early renewal should be considered.
  • Work with accounting and business teams to establish monthly accruals during close.
  • Review differences between accruals and actuals by vendor and account.
  • Monitor older accrual balances on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to identify capitalizable labor work and follow project progress through completion.
  • Manage the monthly submission process for adding new projects into the reporting system.
  • Maintain the forecast for capitalized labor.
  • Assist with operating expense forecasts, variance analysis, metric reporting, and departmental budget planning.

What the company is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or general business management.
  • 2 to 3 years of professional experience in finance or accounting.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and strong working ability with Google Sheets and Google Slides.
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and analyze complex financial and operational datasets.
  • Solid project management skills and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Interest in using AI as part of everyday work and operations.
  • Extra value if you have worked in-house for a technology, consumer, or subscription business.
  • Extra value if you have used Workday or Looker.

Benefits and perks

  • 401(k) matching: the company matches 100% of the first 10% of pre-tax contributions, up to $10,000 per year.
  • Learning and development support: an annual stipend becomes available after three months, plus free access to Udemy from day one.
  • Parental leave: eligible new parents receive fully paid leave for 20 weeks.
  • Fertility support: access to Carrot fertility care, including treatment options and preservation support, with stipend support for preservation and coverage extended to spouses or domestic partners.
  • Monthly date stipend: $100 each month for dates or other experiences, plus free Hinge Premium for employees and their loved ones.
  • Employee resource groups: access to eight ERGs covering Asian, Unapologetic, Disability, LGBTQIA+, Raices, Women/Nonbinary, and Parents communities.
