Role overview
As Group Financial Controller, you will be a central part of the senior leadership team and work closely with the CEO and COO. You will own the group’s finance function, ensuring dependable reporting, effective controls, and meaningful analysis that supports business decisions at the highest level.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated management accounts for the group, including variance analysis, balance sheet review, and forecasting.
- Take charge of budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow oversight.
- Ensure cost accounting and inventory valuation are accurate and well controlled.
- Manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Maintain robust financial controls, internal policies, and compliance systems, including VAT and duty requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Direct internal audit activity and present the findings to senior management.
- Work alongside operational teams to improve business performance.
- Support external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and other specialists.
- Contribute to strategic projects, financial modelling, and possible acquisition activity.

Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with a degree relevant to the field.
- At least 10 years of experience in a comparable finance leadership position.
- Strong technical knowledge of reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and costing.
- Experience in an SME or growth-stage environment would be an advantage.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic choices.
- Excellent analytical ability and close attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel capability and familiarity with ERP or other finance systems.
- Practical, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
