Job description

Role overview

ACE Money Transfer is a global payments business focused on making international money movement secure, dependable, and borderless. The company operates across 106 countries, serves more than 2 million customers, and has access to over 379,000 payout points. As the business expands, it wants to maintain strong compliance, security, and customer confidence.

The Financial Crime Manager will take ownership of the organisation’s anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and fraud risk controls. Working closely with the Head of Compliance & MLRO, this person will handle the day-to-day financial crime function, including transaction monitoring, case investigations, suspicious activity reporting, fraud prevention, and engagement with regulators. The position requires someone who can combine hands-on operational delivery with broader strategic thinking in a fast-moving fintech and payments setting.

Reporting line and department

This position sits within Compliance & Financial Crime and reports to the Head of Compliance & MLRO. The role is full-time and permanent.

Core responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Compliance & AML in maintaining and improving the firm’s AML and CTF policies, procedures, and overall control framework.
  • Keep the AML/CTF programme aligned with Irish law, including the Criminal Justice Acts 2010–2021, as well as guidance issued by the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Assist with the drafting and submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports to FIU Ireland, following direction from the Head of Compliance & AML.
  • Review customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and transaction monitoring activity on an ongoing basis.
  • Contribute to internal AML audits, regulatory examinations, and recurring reports for the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Track changes in AML/CTF regulation, emerging trends, and industry good practice.
  • Manage day-to-day fraud monitoring activity, including alert review and escalation.
  • Detect suspicious behaviours, investigate cases, and coordinate with outside parties such as law enforcement, partners, and regulators where necessary.
  • Tune fraud detection rules and tools so that risk reduction remains effective without harming customer experience.
  • Keep complete fraud case files, incident logs, and supporting documentation in line with company policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Support regulatory reporting and communications with the Central Bank of Ireland as needed.
  • Deliver training on AML and fraud topics to employees across different functions.
  • Prepare management reports and dashboards showing financial crime trends, metrics, and key observations.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to meet regulatory obligations.
  • Use data analysis to identify control improvements and reduce exposure to financial crime risk.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in AML, fraud risk, or a wider financial crime role within regulated financial services, preferably in payments or fintech. They should understand Irish AML requirements well and be comfortable working across investigations, monitoring, reporting, and case management. Strong analytical ability, sound judgment, discretion, and clear communication are essential.

Why this role may appeal

  • Join a purpose-led team working to make cross-border payments safer and more accessible.
  • Help shape a global financial crime risk programme.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with room to develop within compliance and risk.
  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements and a supportive, fast-paced culture.
