Role overview
In this analyst role within Financial Planning & Analysis, you will work with accounting and operational data to support profitability tracking and performance reporting. The position focuses on producing accurate recurring reports, reconciling data, and helping business teams understand results.
What you will do
- Support the month-end close and forecast cycle for assigned product areas by preparing reports, reconciliations, and commentary for stakeholders.
- Contribute to annual and ongoing planning work such as forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring trends or exceptions, while documenting assumptions and changes over time.
- Carry out variance and driver analysis to explain actuals against forecast or budget and surface key risks and opportunities.
- Assist with efficiency reporting and analytics, including location strategy, span-of-control reporting, and similar measures where relevant.
- Help build financial business cases for initiatives by collecting inputs, performing supporting analysis, and summarizing conclusions.
- Track key performance metrics, support data-quality efforts, and identify future reporting requirements for senior leaders.
- Prepare management-ready presentations and recurring deliverables, ensuring the outputs are accurate, controlled, and delivered within deadlines.
- Support improvements to reports and dashboards so that outputs become clearer, more automated, and easier to scale.
- Look for ways to strengthen controls and simplify processes, including automation through tools such as Excel, SQL, or Alteryx where possible.
- Take part in special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.
What we are looking for
- At least 2 years of experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, or analytics, or an equivalent background.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical ability with careful attention to detail and the capacity to work through large datasets while reconciling to source information.
- Comfort managing several priorities in a fast-moving environment and meeting tight deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize findings concisely.
- Strong people skills and the ability to work effectively across functions in a matrixed setup.
- A collaborative, positive approach with strong ownership of time-sensitive deliverables.
Preferred strengths
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, especially for executive-level storytelling.
- Hands-on experience with SQL or Alteryx is an added advantage.
- Exposure to dashboards or reporting platforms such as Tableau is beneficial.
