Job description

Role overview

This role is focused on completing assigned fitting activities to the required standard, while strictly following the relevant work instructions or standard operating procedures. Safe working is expected at all times, for both the individual and colleagues.

For positions that need certified status, the person in this role will be trained through a structured job instruction process to carry out work safely and to the required quality level. Progress toward certification will be tracked through the competence matrix and the site BMS/QMS.

Support will be provided by the Team Leader, including coaching, training coordination, and quick resolution of any quality or non-standard issues.

The role also requires active involvement in spotting safety risks, raising issues immediately to the Team Leader, and contributing ideas for improvement. The wider team works together to build a strong continuous-improvement culture and a positive place to work.

Responsibilities

  • Help create a positive team environment by putting safety first, thinking in a continuous-improvement way, and supporting co-workers.
  • Demonstrate the company’s culture principles through personal conduct and shared accountability with the team.
  • Carry out all tasks in line with approved work methods and training, and escalate any safety, quality, or other problems without delay.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and standards at all times.
  • Understand the team’s key performance measures across people, safety, quality, delivery, cash, and cost, and recognize how individual work affects them.
  • Work toward Lean Foundation certification and deliver at least one Kaizen improvement each month.
  • Support the Team Leader and team with problem-solving by contributing practical ideas from hands-on experience.
  • Take an active role in the team and encourage engagement and collaboration among colleagues.
  • Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory obligations, including equal opportunity and affirmative action requirements, US government contracting ethics rules, and export control regulations.

Job expectations and culture

The organization emphasizes innovation, sustainability, diversity, and inclusion, and expects employees to contribute to a collaborative environment. Reasonable adjustments can be requested during the recruitment process if needed.
