About the practice
Lumino St Heliers is part of a nationwide dental network focused on delivering high-quality care and memorable patient experiences. The practice operates from modern facilities and offers a broad range of oral health services, including preventive, restorative, and cosmetic treatment. This role supports a welcoming, professional front desk experience for patients while working closely with the clinical team.
Working hours
- Monday: 7:45 am to 5:15 pm
- Tuesday: 7:45 am to 5:15 pm
- Wednesday: 7:45 am to 5:15 pm
- Thursday: 7:45 am to 5:15 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Key responsibilities
The Front Desk Coordinator will be the first point of contact for patients and will help keep daily operations running smoothly. The role involves managing appointments, supporting administrative and financial tasks, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the reception area remains organised and presentable.
What you will do
- Greet patients in a warm, polished, and approachable manner so they feel at ease and supported.
- Handle appointment bookings and keep the practice schedule running efficiently.
- Keep patient files accurate and current, including personal information and treatment details.
- Answer queries from patients face to face, online, and by phone while delivering strong service.
- Support payment handling, insurance-related processing, and conversations about treatment fees.
- Partner with the clinical team to ensure clear communication and a smooth workflow between reception and treatment areas.
- Help maintain a clean, tidy, and professional front office and reception space.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dental or healthcare administration is preferred.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service ability with empathy for patients of all ages.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
- Confident computer skills, including familiarity with dental practice management software.
- A courteous, upbeat, and professional manner, including under pressure.
- Ability to work well as part of a close, collaborative team.
- Valid New Zealand work rights and current residence in Central Auckland.
