This position is for a nanny who can provide dependable childcare on a full-time or part-time basis in Los Gatos, California. The role is centered on supporting families with meaningful, engaging care that helps children thrive while making daily life easier for parents.

Compensation

  • Base pay is set at $23 to $25 per hour.
  • Overtime is compensated at $34.50 to $37.50 per hour.

What the job involves

  • Spend time with children through play, reading, arts and crafts, and other age-appropriate activities in the family home.
  • Communicate clearly with parents and coordinate well with coworkers.
  • Be available to work at least three days each week between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
  • Use a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for transportation when needed.
  • Help with homework, including math and English work up to the 5th-grade level.
  • Bring at least one year of regular childcare experience with infants and older children.
  • Provide three references, including two child-related references and one personal character reference.
  • Maintain a dependable schedule so families can count on consistent support.

Working environment

  • The setting is active and child-focused, and it includes cleanup after activities.
  • Time outdoors may be part of the day when weather allows, with plenty of active play.
  • The work involves frequent bending, lifting, squatting, reaching, and pushing.
  • You must be able to lift up to 35 pounds safely.
  • You should be able to move between standing and floor-level activities several times during the day.
  • You need to respond quickly when situations require it.
  • You may need to handle urgent situations calmly, safely, and effectively.

Certifications and qualifications

  • First Aid and CPR certification are required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
