Role overview
This position is part of the landscaping and grounds team at a hotel property in Doha, Qatar. The role is focused on keeping outdoor areas attractive, safe, and well maintained so the grounds reflect a professional and welcoming appearance.
What you will do
- Inspect the property grounds regularly and keep all outdoor areas looking neat and inviting.
- Care for decorative features such as fountains, planters, and similar landscape elements through cleaning, minor repairs, or replacement work.
- Plant and replace flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrubs as needed.
- Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, weeding, trimming, and carrying out routine upkeep.
- Transplant trees, flowers, and shrubs when required.
- Trim and prune trees and shrubs to support healthy growth and appearance.
- Cut and edge grass in areas that cannot be reached by mowers.
- Keep lawns in good condition through mowing, edging, raking leaves, and related maintenance tasks.
- Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems.
- Collect trash from all exterior bins, bag it, and remove it from the grounds.
- Use dump trucks, tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to move equipment, supplies, materials, and debris.
- Clean, wash, and refuel equipment after use.
Work practices and physical demands
- Follow company policies as well as safety and security procedures at all times.
- Report faulty equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Keep uniform and personal presentation neat and professional.
- Protect company property and assets.
- Work closely with the team to support shared goals and quality standards.
- Check tools, equipment, and machines visually for defects or damage.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including an entire shift if needed.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Use steady hand-eye coordination and fine motor control for handling tools and objects of different sizes and weights.
- Work on slopes, uneven ground, slippery surfaces, and ladders.
- Reach above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Carry out snow removal and ice control duties where applicable.
- Use manual dexterity and gross motor skills continuously throughout the shift.
- Perform other duties reasonably assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
The preferred education is a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is preferred. Prior supervisory experience is not required. A valid driver’s license is mandatory for the role.
