Role overview
As a Geek Squad Delivery Driver, you will handle the delivery, setup, repair, and removal of basic-complexity appliances, televisions, and other technology products. The job involves planning the safest and most efficient way to move large appliances into customer homes and other delivery sites, including checking measurements and protecting the route during installation. You may also need to determine whether doors should be removed or fixtures shifted to complete the installation. Internally, this position is known as a Delivery Experience Agent.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out delivery work that may include installing, networking, and repairing devices, especially home theater equipment and appliances.
- Create a smooth customer experience by advising on product placement, services, and related guidance.
- Coordinate inventory and vehicle upkeep with other team members.
- Handle paperwork and payments, share feedback with store teams, and complete in-store repairs when needed.
- Train newly hired drivers.
- Take the lead on two-person assignments and also work independently when required.
Basic qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience in customer service, sales, installation, or delivery of large products.
- A current and valid driver’s license.
- A driving history that meets Best Buy’s safety expectations, including a minimal number of violations or accidents.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 350 pounds alone or up to 700 pounds with a team using a harness, lift, or dolly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to obtain and keep any required state or local licenses within 90 days of hire.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong leadership, decision-making, written communication, verbal communication, and client relationship skills.
- Background in an in-home installation setting.
- Experience working with technology products and learning about them.
