General Labourer

Role overview

GFL Environmental is seeking a dependable and hands-on General Labourer for its Abbotsford, British Columbia site. This position plays an important part in keeping the facility and yard safe, tidy, and presentable.

Work schedule

• Workdays are Monday through Friday.
• Standard hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with 8 hours of work each day.
• The shift pattern and total weekly hours may change after the probationary period ends.

Key duties

• Carry out general cleaning and upkeep around the shop and the outside areas of the office.
• Collect litter and remove debris regularly to maintain a safe yard environment.
• Use power-washing equipment on bins, tools, equipment, and walkways, and complete light painting or touch-up tasks when needed.
• Help maintain the grounds and perimeter through basic landscaping and yard care.
• Tackle additional operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor over time.

Requirements

• Comfort with physically demanding work in changing weather conditions.
• A solid work ethic and the ability to complete tasks independently.
• Dependable attendance is essential, especially for the Tuesday to Thursday block.
• Prior experience with power washing or basic maintenance is helpful but not mandatory.
• Willingness to adapt if the schedule changes after the initial training or probation period.
