Job description

About Garage Beer

Garage Beer is a rapidly growing beer brand that prioritizes fun and a lighthearted approach to business. We are the underdog in the light beer category, experiencing significant growth in social media engagement and distribution. Our philosophy is simple: crisp, easy-drinking beer made for enjoyment, without jargon or excessive complexity.

About You

We are seeking a dependable, self-aware, and collaborative individual who contributes positively to the team and the daily work environment. We value genuine people who are committed to doing good work and enjoying the process.

Job Summary

The General Manager will provide strategic leadership for a multi-state territory, with a strong emphasis on fostering a positive culture, managing revenue effectively, and establishing robust execution routines with their team and wholesale partners. The primary goal is to achieve P&L targets through strategic planning and execution of distribution, feature, and display initiatives, supported by strong team capabilities and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culture Building: Cultivate a winning, growth-oriented, and supportive team environment. Lead and inspire Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Managers, and Field Sales Representatives, while also fostering inclusion across key account managers, revenue analysts, field marketers, and finance personnel. Set clear goals, provide performance feedback through regular one-on-ones and reviews, and actively participate in talent development. Build strong relationships within the team, with wholesale partners, and external stakeholders. Ensure the work environment remains enjoyable.
  • Revenue Management: Partner with wholesalers, the revenue management team, and Garage Beer leadership to maximize revenue and profit margins. Adhere to the established revenue model with wholesalers and create value across all tiers of distribution, ensuring value and appropriate pricing for consumers and partners.
  • Establishing Routines: Develop the capabilities of the direct and extended team, as well as wholesale partners, to enhance market execution. Implement critical routines for annual planning (distribution, volume, investment) and execute these plans through structured processes for independent distribution, chain mandate execution, feature enablement, and display execution. Drive consistent wholesaler execution by adapting strategies to individual wholesaler operations while maintaining discipline and routine to achieve optimal results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience, with a minimum of 10 years in beverage, beer, distributor, supplier, or CPG sales.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and driving sales growth.
  • Proficiency in or ability to quickly learn technical tools for data analysis, including internal systems (e.g., VIP, Karma) and external data sources (syndicated data, distributor reports) to identify opportunities, derive insights, and present findings effectively.
  • This is a remote position requiring travel primarily within the assigned multi-state region, with occasional travel for company or industry events.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Direct experience in the beer or alcohol industry, understanding its unique dynamics.
  • A competitive and team-oriented mindset, thriving in collaborative settings.
  • Experience in developing new markets and processes.
  • A curious nature, promoting a learning culture and seeking innovative solutions.

What We Offer:

  • An opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment where ideas are implemented quickly.
  • A fun and engaging work culture focused on building a rapidly growing beer brand.
  • Competitive compensation package including an annual base salary between $140,000 and $170,000, with incentive opportunities tied to performance.
  • A monthly car allowance of $1,000.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including 100% employer-paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, and short-term disability insurance, along with voluntary benefits and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • A flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) policy and company-observed holidays.

The stated salary range is an estimate; actual offers will be based on individual experience, skills, internal equity, and location. Garage Beer is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
