Role Overview
Auckland Harbour Suites is seeking a dependable and hands-on Handyperson to join the team full time. The role is central to keeping the property safe, tidy, and inviting for guests and staff. The position covers day-to-day fixes, planned upkeep, and quick response to maintenance issues across guest rooms, shared areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Key Duties
- Perform general repair and maintenance tasks throughout guest accommodation, common areas, and facility spaces.
- Assist with monitoring and coordinating outside contractors when needed.
- Support the implementation and upkeep of the property’s preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of daily work completed, maintenance requests, and scheduled servicing.
Work Schedule
- At least 40 hours each week.
- Monday to Friday roster.
- Start time is 8:30 AM.
- Weekend work may occasionally be required on an ad hoc basis.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is practical, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. You should bring strong troubleshooting ability, good organisation, and the communication skills needed to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and guests.
Requirements
- Prior practical experience in building or property maintenance is preferred; around 12 months is ideal but not mandatory.
- Painting experience is an advantage.
- Ability to diagnose issues and solve problems independently.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A consistent focus on high service standards.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
