Role overview
Schwarz Excavations is looking for an experienced Hi-Rail Operator to support civil, rail, and infrastructure works throughout Queensland. This is a practical, hands-on position involving specialist rail and earthmoving machinery, with a strong focus on safe, efficient delivery.
You will be joining a high-performing team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The role also provides exposure to major projects in renewable energy and infrastructure, along with genuine opportunities to develop a long-term career.
Key duties
- Support the upkeep of rail track infrastructure.
- Drive and operate hi-rail vehicles in line with network requirements and operating rules.
- Adhere to all Schwarz, client, and site safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with other team members to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Contribute actively to a strong safety culture.
- Complete paperwork and records accurately and on time.
Skills and experience
- RIW certification.
- TLIC3045 Operate road/rail vehicle unit.
- Construction Induction (White Card).
- Current C Class driver’s licence.
- Ability to successfully pass a CAT 1 rail medical assessment.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure is preferred.
