Key responsibilities

  • Support the assessment and execution of strategies at both the company and asset level, including revenue and cost management, capital allocation, real estate transactions, broader corporate initiatives, and loan refinancing work.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders, which includes maintaining valuation models, projecting investment cash flows, and preparing supporting analyses and reports for accounting, capital markets, and fund management teams.
  • Carry out quarterly reviews of the existing investment thesis and prepare performance and strategy updates for senior leadership at Starwood.
  • Help coordinate and execute disposition and refinancing transactions in collaboration with other teams across the organization.
  • Draft investment memoranda and investment update presentations for senior firm leaders, and respond to cross-functional ad hoc requests related to hotel investments.
  • Work with portfolio company and hotel management teams, as well as joint venture partners, to support reporting, scheduling, relationship management, and project coordination.
  • Take part in monthly operating reviews and quarterly board meetings with hotel and corporate management teams.
  • Keep current on local hotel market activity, including performance trends, competitor dynamics, recent transactions, and the development pipeline.
  • Partner with internal and external specialists and advisors to assess and implement value-creating initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships across Starwood and with outside parties such as JV partners, management teams, property teams, lenders, counsel, brokers, brand representatives, and consultants.
  • Travel as needed to visit real estate assets, businesses, and other important stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in finance or real estate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest and background in real estate, finance, accounting, and/or capital markets, along with solid understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
  • Advanced ability in financial modeling, presentations, written and verbal communication, and project management.
  • Comfort and motivation to work in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial, high-pressure environment with minimal oversight.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.
