Role summary
This opportunity is for a Housekeeper based at a Horizon North camp facility in Moosonee, Ontario. The role reports to the Head Housekeeper and Lodge Manager and is responsible for keeping the property clean and well maintained to a high standard. It is being hired for future openings at the project site.
The regular schedule is 2 weeks working followed by 2 weeks off, with 10-hour shifts. Transportation to the site is provided from a pickup point.
Key duties
- Perform room-by-room cleaning checks and handle more than 30 rooms each day, with the exact volume depending on occupancy.
- Deliver complete housekeeping support in guest rooms and hallways.
- Make beds and replace linens on a weekly basis or whenever needed.
- Vacuum and dust furniture, blinds, and hallway areas.
- Clean, scrub, and disinfect bathrooms, windows, and mirrors.
- Remove waste from sleeping areas, including regular garbage and recycling collection.
- Wash and fold towels, bedding, and other linen items.
- Load and unload the laundry and linen truck, along with related supplies.
- Track bedding issued in the lodge, help maintain inventory, and report shortages to the Lodge Manager.

Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience in janitorial or housekeeping work.
- Working knowledge of standard cleaning methods, products, chemicals, and equipment.
- Previous exposure to a remote lodge, hotel, institutional, or commercial cleaning environment is an advantage.
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work alone with limited oversight as well as collaborate with others.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to score 80% or above on the mandatory WHMIS test.
