Housekeeper HCC

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for keeping the facility clean and sanitary so residents, staff, and visitors experience a safe, comfortable, and home-like setting. All cleaning tasks must follow facility procedures and comply with applicable state and federal rules, supporting a living environment that improves residents’ quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors; when needed, use center-approved methods such as spray buffing, stripping, or waxing, along with wet floor signage.
• Vacuum carpeted areas where applicable.
• Empty trash containers, clean them inside and outside, and replace liners with fresh ones.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets according to center procedures.
• Clean mirrors, windows, pictures, and other glass surfaces.
• Clean areas behind and beneath furniture and other furnishings.
• Carry out all cleaning work in line with infection prevention and control standards.
• Remove wax and dirt buildup from corners, baseboards, and doorways.
• Replace soiled privacy curtains and outside window draperies as needed.
• Take down and rehang outside window curtains and draperies using a ladder when required.
• Dust and damp-clean resident/patient room surfaces such as furniture, bed frames, and windowsills, following center procedures and using wet floor signs where necessary.
• Move furniture as needed to clean under and behind it, following center rules.
• Turn mattresses after cleaning.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required; training will be provided on the job.
• High school diploma or an equivalent credential is preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services is preferred.

Additional Information
