About the Role
This position is based in a care home set within its own grounds in Dunoon, Scotland, with views across the sea, woodland, and gardens. The home provides residential care for 32 residents.
What the Role Involves
As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming setting for residents, while also assisting with laundry duties. The work is practical and varied, and the care you take in day-to-day tasks will help protect comfort, dignity, and overall wellbeing.
Your duties will include cleaning residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation. You will also handle laundry tasks such as washing, drying, ironing, and returning clothing correctly, while making sure items are clearly labelled and treated carefully.
You will work alongside the wider team and follow infection control, health and safety, and housekeeping procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently. The role contributes to a tidy, well-organised environment where residents feel respected and supported.
Contract Details
- Pay rate: £12.71 per hour.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with a dependable, positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and good organisational ability. You should be able to work on your own as well as cooperate effectively with colleagues, and communicate clearly with others.
A basic understanding of hygiene and infection control would be helpful. Previous housekeeping or similar experience is welcome, although it is not required.
