About the Role

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for checking guest rooms and shared areas to confirm cleanliness standards and identify maintenance concerns. This position serves as a model for service quality, supports guest issue resolution, and helps ensure that company values and service expectations are consistently upheld.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests in a courteous, polished, and professional way.
  • Set and sustain strong performance standards by communicating effectively with team members.
  • Use time efficiently and manage day-to-day priorities well.
  • Carry out detailed inspections of guest rooms to verify that cleanliness requirements are fully met.
  • Flag maintenance problems in line with company procedures.
  • Keep relevant team members informed about the status of each room.
  • Support the training and growth of both new and current staff.
  • Help control costs by monitoring linen usage, supplies, and equipment.
  • Complete inventory counts as assigned.
  • Keep storage areas, closets, and office spaces neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Address guest complaints or service issues quickly and ensure follow-through to completion.
  • Escalate any unsafe working conditions to the manager.
  • Accurately log, store, and dispose of lost-and-found items left in guest rooms.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of experience as a Housekeeping Inspector or in a similar role.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of stairs.
  • Regular twisting, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Capacity to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to odors and dust.
  • Contact with cleaning chemicals.
  • Contact with laundry chemicals.
  • Work may involve outside weather conditions.

This role offers competitive pay and is classified as a variable-hour employee position. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
