Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a Senior HR Generalist based in the United States and shared on behalf of a partner employer that handles applications and the next stages directly. The role is centered on employee relations and workplace investigations, with a strong need for fairness, neutrality, and compliance. You will manage delicate matters such as misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation while ensuring employment laws and internal policies are followed consistently. The position supports organizational integrity, employee well-being, and consistent HR practices across the business.

You will collaborate with leadership, legal partners, and HR stakeholders to examine complex situations, build evidence-based conclusions, and communicate findings clearly. The work environment is fast-moving and requires excellent judgment, confidentiality, and communication skills. The position also provides exposure to broader HR initiatives and chances to help improve employee experience and workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Own workplace investigations from start to finish for employee relations matters such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and policy breaches.
  • Handle cases that come in through internal complaints, anonymous reporting channels, and external legal or regulatory sources.
  • Interview involved parties, collect supporting evidence, and maintain complete and accurate investigative records.
  • Draft thorough, legally supportable reports that outline the facts, analysis, and suggested next steps for leadership.
  • Use knowledge of U.S. employment law, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and applicable state and local rules.
  • Work with legal counsel on high-risk matters, claims, and litigation-related issues while preserving objective fact-finding.
  • Recommend corrective measures, disciplinary responses, and process enhancements that reduce risk and improve compliance.
  • Spot patterns in employee relations matters and help drive preventive organizational improvements.
  • Present investigation outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders in a clear, professional manner.
  • Maintain a fair, consistent, and compliant approach across employee relations processes.
  • Assist with broader HR generalist duties and special projects as business priorities change.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years of HR experience, ideally with substantial exposure to employee relations and workplace investigations.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Hands-on experience handling sensitive employee investigations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication abilities, with the capacity to deliver neutral, fact-based findings.
  • Comfort managing difficult conversations while staying composed, objective, and empathetic.
  • Experience using HRIS tools and case management or HR tracking systems.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to assess evidence and reach sound conclusions.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is preferred.
  • Exposure to legal counsel or responses to agencies such as the EEOC or Department of Labor is considered an advantage.
  • High integrity, discretion, and close attention to detail.

Benefits and additional information

  • Competitive annual compensation of about $73,000, depending on experience and location.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays.
  • Chance to work in a people-centered, values-driven HR setting.
  • Exposure to complex employee relations and investigative work at scale.
  • Opportunities to grow within HR generalist and employee relations paths.
  • An inclusive culture that emphasizes diversity, equity, and belonging.
  • Flexibility to support changing HR priorities and special projects.

Hiring and privacy information

Applications and subsequent steps are managed by the partner company. A matching process is used to review applications against the role’s core requirements, after which a shortlist is shared with the hiring employer for interviews and assessments. Application data may be processed to evaluate candidacy and shared with the employer, and automated tools may assist with screening, resume analysis, and consistency checks; final hiring decisions are made by people.
