About the role
Massey University is looking for an experienced HRIS Analyst to help embed and improve its new HR information system. This position supports enhancements across the entire employee journey and is part of the HR Systems team, which is focused on keeping people systems dependable, secure, and continuously evolving. The role works closely with People & Culture, ITS, and external suppliers to turn business needs into practical system solutions.
This is a hands-on position that combines systems knowledge, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to work well with a wide range of stakeholders. Key responsibilities
- Support HRIS enhancements, including system upgrades, testing, releases, and data quality checks.
- Review and map HR processes, then identify opportunities to make them more effective.
- Work with stakeholders to define needs and shape workable system designs.
- Assist with user acceptance testing, reporting, and system setup or configuration.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to keep systems secure, stable, and suitable for use.
- Contribute across the full HR systems lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience using HR systems across the full employee lifecycle.
- Sound knowledge of HR processes, including process design and documentation.
- At least 3 years working with large and complex database systems, including upgrade installation, testing, and release activities.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a creative approach to adapting solutions in a complex environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse workforce.
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience in business analysis or systems implementation will be an advantage.
