Job description
Role overview
An established and expanding organization in the construction and manufacturing space is looking for an experienced HSEQ Coordinator. This is a broad, practical position with genuine ownership, where you will manage health, safety, environmental, and quality matters across the business while also contributing to operational and administrative support.
The role is not confined to desk work; it suits someone who prefers being active across the site, working with different teams, and making a visible difference. As a standalone position, it gives you the chance to influence processes, take initiative, and help raise standards as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Plan, complete, and monitor HSEQ inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Keep risk assessments, policies, procedures, and core registers current and accurate.
- Assist with external audits and certification activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Log, investigate, and follow through on accidents and near-miss reports, making sure corrective actions are completed and reviewed.
- Track actions through to closure and maintain well-organized records and supporting documentation.
- Organize training sessions, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Arrange and coordinate emergency drills, ensuring the site remains prepared.
- Support compliance checks for contractors and suppliers, including required documentation.
- Provide additional operational support such as facilities coordination, fleet administration, and general business tasks.
Requirements
- Experience in a health, safety, environmental, or quality-focused role is required.
- You should be comfortable working autonomously and taking full ownership in a standalone role.
- A proactive, practical approach and confidence working with people across the business are important.
- Strong organizational ability is needed to manage several priorities at once.
- A sensible, hands-on approach to HSEQ is preferred over an overly corporate or rigid style.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to standards are essential.
Perks and benefits
- Base salary of £35,000 to £45,000, negotiable based on experience, plus bonus.
- Flexible working hours, typically starting between 7:00 am and 8:00 am and finishing between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
- Early finishes may be available when workload permits.
- 23 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
- Additional holiday entitlement based on length of service, along with your birthday off.
- Lunch provided.
- On-site parking available.
- Strong scope for progression within a growing business.
Additional information
This is a full-time onsite role based in Ellon, Scotland, United Kingdom. The opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and career development in a business that values initiative, attitude, and continuous improvement.
