About the role

Bizerba Canada is hiring a proactive and business-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support managers and employees across the full employee journey. This position blends strategic HR support with day-to-day operational work, helping ensure HR practices support business objectives while staying aligned with Canadian employment legislation. The role is a key partner for leaders and employees across employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination and processing, HR administration, compliance, and performance management. It also contributes to a positive employee experience and smooth HR operations.

The area of responsibility covers Bizerba Canada Inc. in Mississauga and Bizerba Tekno Label in Longueuil, Quebec. The salary range for this position is CAD $75,000 to $90,000 annually.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice to managers and employees on workplace concerns, employee relations matters, performance issues, and interpretation of company policies.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle by helping coordinate HR activities from hiring through offboarding, with a strong focus on employee experience.
  • Administer payroll-related processes, including employee changes, time tracking, compensation adjustments, benefits, RRSP administration, and payroll records.
  • Keep employee files, HRIS information, employment agreements, and HR documents current, accurate, and confidential.
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities such as job ads, interviews, candidate evaluation, offer preparation, and onboarding across departments.
  • Assist with employee engagement, recognition programs, learning coordination, and workplace investigations when needed.
  • Support managers with performance reviews, coaching, corrective action, leave administration, accommodations, and return-to-work planning.
  • Manage employee benefits administration and respond to employee questions as a key contact point.
  • Help ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws, internal policies, and HR standards.
  • Contribute to HR reporting, audits, policy revisions, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Assist with special HR initiatives, employee communications, and other assigned duties.
  • Support occupational health and safety activities, including WSIB/WBC claims administration, incident reporting, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
  • Travel to the Longueuil site roughly once per month, with occasional travel alongside field employees when required.

Required profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll administration, HR systems, recruitment, and employee relations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, HR compliance, and modern HR practices.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain strong professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Comfort handling multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong business partnering and coaching capability, with the ability to support managers effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS tools.
  • Knowledge of employment standards and labour laws in Quebec and Ontario is required; Alberta and other provinces are an asset.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and French is required.
