Position overview

Coffee for the Soul is looking for a bilingual, well-organized, and proactive Human Resources Generalist to support HR operations across a fast-moving business with 18 locations and continued growth plans. The role is based in Casselberry, Florida, and is an on-site, temporary full-time position that may be converted to permanent employment depending on performance, business requirements, and company approval. Permanent placement is not assured.

The selected candidate will report to the Human Resources Manager and handle core HR functions such as employee relations, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, employment paperwork, investigations, corrective action, workers’ compensation, OSHA-related processes, and general HR support. This position is not primarily focused on recruiting, but assistance with interviews, selection, hiring, and onboarding may be needed when business demands require it.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee onboarding activities using ADP Workforce Now and ADP TotalSource.
  • Check and update Form I-9, E-Verify records, personnel files, and compliance documents.
  • Respond to employee and administrative matters related to benefits, COBRA, paid time off, and leaves of absence.
  • Review employee relations issues and share conclusions and recommendations with the Human Resources Manager.
  • Carry out workplace investigations, including interviews, evidence gathering, documentation, and summary preparation.
  • Draft written warnings, performance improvement plans, progressive discipline documents, and corrective action recommendations.
  • Interpret company policies and advise managers on applying them consistently and fairly.
  • Manage administrative offboarding and employee separation tasks.
  • Handle workers’ compensation documentation, OSHA-related matters, work restrictions, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Keep HR reports, trackers, audit records, employee files, and compliance controls up to date.
  • Spot missing documentation, compliance risks, and opportunities to improve HR processes.
  • Support performance management activities and employee engagement efforts.
  • Provide support for recruiting and hiring-related tasks when needed.
  • Protect the confidentiality of personal, medical, pay-related, investigative, and disciplinary information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related subject, or comparable professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Background in food service, restaurants, hospitality, retail, or a similar industry.
  • Experience working in organizations with multiple locations and operations across multiple states.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP TotalSource, Form I-9, and E-Verify.
  • Experience handling employee relations, workplace investigations, discipline, workers’ compensation, OSHA-related processes, and benefits administration.
  • Practical understanding of the FLSA, ADA, Title VII, the Illinois Human Rights Act, and the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
  • Ability to assess workplace situations, use sound judgment, and recommend the right course of action.
  • Comfort managing several priorities, working with minimal supervision, and closing matters through completion.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Preferred exposure to Connecteam, Toast, ADP TotalSource, Restaurant365, and/or SharePoint.
  • Preferred HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or an equivalent credential.

Compensation and benefits

  • Annual pay range: $50,000 to $52,000, based on experience.
  • Standard Monday to Friday full-time schedule.
  • Temporary full-time assignment with the potential to become permanent.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, subject to eligibility and plan rules.
  • Paid time off.
  • Employee discount.

Work location

188 Wilshire Boulevard, Casselberry, Florida 32707. This role is fully on-site.
