Job description

Role overview

Punch Bowl Social is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join its leadership group and support a lively, fast-moving restaurant environment. This role partners across multiple PBS Brands, including Punch Bowl Social, Pinstripes, Voicebox, Sweet Tooth Hotel, and Lyrical. The position is based in Denver and combines regular time in the office with remote flexibility.

Compensation for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

Core duties

The HR Generalist will bring a professional, people-centered approach, strong organization, and careful attention to detail while helping teams make sound decisions and manage risk. The role requires staying calm under pressure, listening well, and prioritizing urgent matters appropriately. The person in this role must also be ready to respond when employee or guest issues need immediate attention.

Employee relations

You will work closely with operations leaders to help build engaged, healthy teams. This includes supporting investigations, advising on employee relations practices, and serving as a trusted resource for best-practice guidance. The role also involves coaching leaders through counseling, discipline, and termination situations, while helping resolve conflicts in an objective and professional way. A root-cause mindset and alignment with core values are important for this work.

Training and onboarding support

You will help create and deliver ongoing training initiatives for topics such as discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. You may also design and monitor specialized training programs for operations teams when needed.

Systems, claims, and process support

This position includes handling unemployment claims from start to finish, including fact gathering and hearing preparation. It also involves managing employment-related matters filed with agencies such as the EEOC, OSHA, and workers' compensation authorities, while coordinating with outside counsel when necessary. You will also complete required HR reporting, support compliance with federal and state rules, and assist with payroll auditing, troubleshooting, and accuracy checks in partnership with operations and finance.

Compliance responsibilities

The role requires staying current on immigration rules, state-specific laws, federal requirements, E-Verify, the Fair Labor Standards Act, minimum wage, overtime, equal pay, and general HR documentation practices such as I-9 and W-4 forms. You will also help maintain internal communication tools and records used for PTO tracking, sick pay, certification compliance, inspection compliance, and related documentation.

Benefits and growth

Employees in this role may receive a full benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, an HSA with company contribution, a 401(k), flexible spending accounts, an employee assistance program, company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, and flexible paid time off. Additional voluntary options include LifeLock protection, pet insurance, accident coverage, and critical illness coverage. The company also highlights opportunities for growth and advancement, along with discounts on food, beverages, and activities.

Equal opportunity statement

The employer is an equal opportunity organization and considers applicants without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship status, ancestry, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, arrest record, genetic information, or any other legally protected characteristic.
