Role overview
The HVAC Technician (Applied & DX) will handle installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work for applied and DX systems to help ensure dependable performance and strong customer satisfaction. This position is based in Doha, Qatar, and calls for practical technical know-how, sound fault-finding ability, and strict attention to safety and service standards. The role requires working independently at customer locations while staying aligned with supervisors and service teams to meet SLA commitments and operational goals.
Service execution and technical support
- Carry out installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair activities for applied systems such as chillers, AHUs, and FCUs, as well as DX and VRV/VRF equipment.
- Identify electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues and resolve them through appropriate corrective action.
- Support commissioning and O&M work so that equipment operates in line with OEM expectations.
Fault diagnosis and system performance
- Trace the underlying cause of failures and work to reduce repeat breakdowns.
- Improve performance by carrying out correct servicing, checking parameters, and making minor adjustments where needed.
- Refer more complex or repeated issues to the supervisor when necessary.
Customer handling and service quality
- Serve as the technical point of contact at site and communicate professionally with customers.
- Clearly explain service activities, observations, and recommended actions.
- Maintain a high standard of service delivery and customer satisfaction throughout each visit.
Reporting and coordination
- Prepare service reports, checklists, and job records accurately and within the required timeline.
- Document readings, identified faults, and the corrective steps taken.
- Work with supervisors, planners, and spare parts teams to ensure smooth execution of service jobs.
Safety and compliance
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, PPE rules, and permit-to-work requirements.
- Handle tools, equipment, and refrigerants safely and responsibly.
Learning and development
- Keep building knowledge of products, service methods, and newer HVAC technologies.
- Take part in training programs and apply the learning in day-to-day field work.
Required profile
Candidates should hold a technical diploma such as ITI or a diploma in Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or an equivalent qualification. The role expects at least 3 years of practical HVAC service experience, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience with DX and VRV/VRF systems and/or applied equipment like chillers, AHUs, and FCUs is needed. Strong diagnostic ability in electrical and refrigeration systems, familiarity with HVAC controls and schematic drawings, and the capacity to work independently at customer sites are important. Good communication and customer-facing skills are also expected, along with the ability to use service reporting tools in either manual or digital form. A strong focus on safety and quality is essential. A valid Qatar driving license is considered an advantage.
