About the Role
Magnum Trailer and Equipment ULC is hiring a dependable Industrial Sandblaster to handle surface preparation and abrasive blasting for industrial equipment, trailers, and fabricated parts before they move on to painting or coating.
This position is a fit for someone who values precision, safe work practices, and hands-on work in an industrial setting.
Job Details
- Pay range: $25 to $35 per hour
- Employment type: Full time
- Shift: 4 x 10 night schedule, Monday to Thursday, 4:30 pm to 2:30 am
- Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out abrasive blasting on metal surfaces using sandblasting or grit blasting methods
- Blast trailers and trailer parts so they are ready for paint
- Use a forklift and yard truck regularly as part of the work
- Prepare surfaces for priming and painting
- Run blasting machines, air compressors, and associated hand tools and equipment
- Check finished surfaces to confirm they are cleaned properly and meet required profile standards
- Look after blasting media, hoses, nozzles, and safety equipment
- Work in line with all safety rules and environmental procedures
- Support general shop tasks when needed
Qualifications and Experience
- Between 1 and 5 years of prior sandblasting experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments
- Comfort working in physically demanding conditions
- Careful work habits with strong focus on detail and workmanship
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred
- Ability to wear full personal protective equipment and respirator gear
